Duke Memorial’s Legacy Funds include a fund to provide scholarships to college orseminary students who are members of Duke Memorial UMC. The fund also is available to a pre-ministerial or pre-missionary student associated with the church to continue his or her college education. The scholarship fund committee will be awarding small scholarships later this summer and welcomes applications. An application form is available here and should be completed by the student.
This fund was established from a combination of gifts made in memory or Dr. Clarence Bartholomew and Mrs. Maude Dunn and in honor of Rev. Charles Spence Hubbard (pastor from 1971-1975). The members of the Scholarship Fund Committee are the Pastor, Church Council Chair, Membership Secretary, Lay Leader and the Youth Minister.
Applications are due by August 15, 2011 and should be emailed to scholarships@dukememorial.org.
