Welcome!
Our goal is to provide excellent nursery care in a safe and loving environment. As your child grows from infancy to age four, we will introduce them to God through our caring hands and hearts, as well as storytelling, music, and crafts. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all our children.
Sunday Mornings
Childcare is available on Sunday mornings for infants through four-year-olds from 9:45 a.m. to noon, during the Sunday School hour and worship. Nursery is provided every Sunday. A light snack is provided. There are always two paid nursery workers in each room to provide the safest atmosphere for your child. All workers have undergone background checks. For children in the Infant Room (Newborn-18 months), pagers are available to call you back to the nursery if needed.
The nursery rooms are located on the top floor of the Education building.

Toddlers (18 months – 3 years):

Safe Sanctuaries
At Duke Memorial, we believe that children are a gift from God. In order to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all of our children and youth we have a Safe Sanctuaries Policy. The Safe Sanctuaries Policy is a set of guidelines and procedures implemented to create an environment in which children, youth, and adults who work with them have boundaries of safe space. All volunteers and workers with infants, children, and youth have had background checks and have received training in our Safe Sanctuaries Policies.
Baptism
At Duke Memorial and as United Methodists, we believe that God is at work in every person’s life, even if they are too young to know it! We therefore baptize infants with the sure and certain trust that God longs to give to every child the gift of forgiveness, faith, guidance, and belonging. Baptism is a sacrament and a gift, and it comes with responsibilities. In our baptismal liturgy, the parents and congregation members affirm their commitment to Jesus Christ and promise to nurture the faith of the little one being baptized within the community of the church. When the baptized child becomes older, he or she has the opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and to make a decision to confirm their faith and fully embrace what was begun at baptism through a process called Confirmation. To learn more about Baptism or to discuss your readiness to be baptized or have your child baptized, contact one of the pastors.
